Accelerating the timeline to first in human trials:
Case studies on API in capsule technology
April 22nd 2008
Accurately and precisely dispensing drug substances alone, in tiny amounts as low as 100 micrograms, into capsules without excipients or bulking agents is changing the process of drug development.

Today, Pharma companies use micro-dosing technology to shorten drug development by reducing the need for costly and time–consuming stability and pre-formulation studies. Reducing the time it takes to reach the critical “first in man” clinical trial decision point allows an increase in throughput of candidate compounds for development, thereby enabling Pharma development departments to focus their resource on potential winners.

On April 22nd Capsugel will host a webinar on the use of this emerging technology with case studies from Pfizer Pharmaceutical and Xcelience, a drug development contract research organization.

Webinar Speakers Include:
David Edwards – Director of Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology Group, Capsugel
“Xcelodose® S — Changing the Face of Pharmaceutical Product Development”
Theodore S. Koontz – Manager, Operations, Xcelience
“Filling Neat API into a Capsule Using Xcelodose® 600: An Overview”
Robert M. Noack – Senior Principle Scientist, Pfizer
